Set-Aside
A contract reserved for a specific category of small business.
A set-aside is a contract (or portion of one) that the government reserves for competition only among a specific group - for example, all small businesses, or just 8(a), HUBZone, WOSB, or SDVOSB firms. Set-asides help agencies meet their small-business contracting goals and give qualifying firms a less crowded field.
